Geometry Station Activities for Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) - Print Version
The research is in: students make sense of mathematical problems best when they work in small groups, with hands-on experiences that echo real-world situations. That’s why Station Activities for Texas Geometry has proven so popular. Students learn to apply geometry concepts, employ problem-solving strategies, communicate with one another, and reason through
to the answers while working together.

This book contains thirty sets of activities across twelve topics: Points and Lines; Congruent Triangles; Relationships in Triangles; Proportions and Similarity; Right Triangles and Trigonometry; Quadrilaterals; Transformations; Coordinate Proof; Circles; Area; Surface Area; and Volume and Three-D Figures. The activities consist of four different stations where students work in small groups, moving from station to station once their activities are complete.

According to Jill Rosenblum, Walch Education’s Vice President of Education, “Station-based activities give students multiple opportunities to develop their understanding. At the same time, they give teachers the chance to circulate, do informal assessments, and provide individual or small-group instruction as needed."
  • 30 sets of activities, each with 4 separate stations
  • 10-15 minutes per station followed by a debrief discussion
  • Correlated to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and to the expectations of the Geometry EOC, complementing any math program
  • Use readily available materials and manipulatives
(not included)
