Walch Integrated Math’s TN Core Integrated Math I, II, and III Programs Adopted by Tennessee Board of Education
The math programs address TN Core Mathematics Standards and reflect Walch’s “Teachers First” approach
PORTLAND, ME (November 10, 2014) – The Tennessee State Board of Education adopted the Walch Integrated Math TN Core Integrated Math I, II, and III programs after a full review and recommendation by the State Textbook and Instructional Materials Quality Commission.
Walch’s Tennessee materials address the TN Core Mathematics Standards for Core Math I, II, and III, are aligned to the CCSS Integrated Pathway curriculum map, and utilize the eight Mathematical Practices of the Common Core State Standards. “Tennessee teachers welcome our comprehensive and flexible resources, which are research-based and are developed with direct input from teachers,” said Rebecca Johnson, District Solutions Manager for Walch.
Leading school districts from California to Georgia have adopted Walch’s CCSS Integrated Math programs and are successfully implementing them in their classrooms with tens of thousands of students. Walch’s Integrated Math resources, along with new online assessments designed to help students prepare for upcoming state assessments, are also being piloted in districts across the country, including in a number of schools in Tennessee.
“Tennessee educators appreciate that that we customize resources to support their state and district standards. Our ‘Teachers First’ approach is reflected in our efforts to provide the most efficient and effective set of resources to support Tennessee’s standards and instructional approach. As an example, we’ve recently launched online assessments that use SBAC/PARCC item types and are currently developing honors and support materials for Tennessee’s integrated courses,” said Al Noyes, Walch’s President.
